We Got the (Grilled) Beets!5.14.17
By now, you’ve heard about our spring menu aplenty (but we’re probably gonna keep telling you about it until summer) — not only because we’re proud of it, but also so you can learn more about these new offerings and the thought process that when into adding them to the lineup.
One of the additions we’re so proud of is our Grilled Beets, with pickled raisins and walnuts. We chose beets inparticular mainly for two reasons — they’re both nutritious and delicious, but also because they’re great any which way: pickled, roasted, fried, or shaved into salads. We paired them with spicy pickled goldens to add some acidity and heat to the dish, while the walnuts help add some crunch to round things out nicely.
As far as health benefits go, beets are known for helping boost stamina and improving blood flow while also working to help lower blood pressure. Raisins themselves are a great source of iron, potassium, and B Vitamins, while walnuts are rich in antioxidants and omega 3 (+ also supplementing the B Vitamins you’ll get from raisins).
Our beet mix isn’t the only addition that came along with our spring menu, though! Find out what other goodies we’ve ushered in in one of our recent posts found here, OR check out the menu for yourself on our site!
Have you tried our beets yet? If so, let us know what you think of ’em on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram!
